Welcome

Welcome

Message from the Headteacher        Thank you for visiting our school website. My name is Mrs Hunt and I had the pleasure of becoming Hoyland Springwood's Headteacher on the 1st September 2018. Although this website does feature up to date information, it is currently being reviewed and amended. Our school is a vibrant and happy place where the children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they believe in themselves and are confident learners. The school has a dedicated team that works hard to reach high standards in everything we do and this is further embedded through our successful relationships with the children themselves, the parents, the local community and the other schools in the ECM Trust. We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard you as an active partner in your child's education and value your interest and support. We have a learning community that we are thoroughly proud of and visitors often comment on how warm and welcoming the school feels.  Please do get in touch with me, if you have any queries or would like to arrange a visit.  Jen Hunt, Headteacher

Our School

Values & Ethos                                                 Hoyland Springwood is a warm, welcoming and inclusive school.  We recognise the importance of working with the whole family and strive to engage parents and carers in school life and their children’s learning. As part of the Every Child Matter’s Academy Trust, we work to ensure that all children, irrespective of background or need, progress socially, emotionally and academically, and that any barriers to achievement are minimised as far as possible. We want all children and families to have high aspirations and for children to fulfil their potential.  Opportunities are sought to provide the children with not only a strong education in the core skills of literacy, numeracy and ICT but also a wider education which prepares them for a full and productive future as a citizen of the world.  We believe that our children need to understand their community at all levels – locally, regionally, nationally and globally. Hoyland Springwood is a smaller than average primary school located in the former mining community of Hoyland. We currently have five classes catering for children from Reception to Year 6.  For an overview of school organisation for this academic year, please click here: School Organisation 2018-2019
