Resourced Provision children have had a fantastic start to the new academic year. Life skills is starting this Thursday and Social skills on Friday, so stay tuned for pictures and information of what we have been up to!!
As part of Resourced Provision we try to look at things broader than the curriculum and help our children with life skills they will be using when they leave us. This week we focused on being able to take turns, share and accept when things might not go your way.
For the younger group we looked at how to start a conversation and end a conversation, things that some of us take for granted. They learnt different types of greetings and how to politely end a conversation.
Resourced Provision have been taking part in life skills sessions learning to take turns, taking part in different games, interacting with various staff and adults – whilst having fun! They also learnt table manners, and had a small party in the provision! This was all to say goodbay to one of our lond serving members of staff – Gail. Gail has gone on to work at another school for children with Autism.
She will definetly be missed by children and staff alike and we hope she comes back to visit soon!
Writing stimulus week in Resourced Provision has seen the Rhino’s completing some amazing Literacy work, based on the animation The Clock Tower. Each day we completed a different task which included – sequening, adjectives and sentence formation. Look below to see what the Rhino’s have been doing.
The Resourced Provision Rhino’s have had a fantastic first week back. Everyone has come back very settled and ready to learn. There has been lots of outdoor learning even in the snow!!! We have had a new pupil join us – Elliott! He is part of the the Rhino’s and Lemurs and is really enjoying being part of Springwood. Keep it up!!
Some of the rhino’s visited the kangaroos class to take part in a science senses experiment. On the list of things to try were green tea, ready salted crisps, lime, and chocolate. All the children tried everything and they actually found they like green tea!! They used all their senses to look, taste, touch and smell.
Lucas and lewis loved the feel of fresh lime
Mason loved ready salted crisps

Resourced Provision have now decided to have a class name that shows what they are really all about!!
The Resilient Rhinos is the name they chose and they have a new class mascot Rocky the Rhino. He will coming to each child’s home from Resourced Provision so please show him some exciting adventures. We will then use the class book to talk about what he has done and use this as a stimulus for our work.
