We love where we live!
We have had an absolutely wonderful day at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We enjoyed stories and sculpture, singing and wonderful sights. Take a look at our pictures…
We visited the Asha Munn, ‘Fly Away Home’ bird box sculptures. We thought about our own homes, how they were built and who built them. We talked about how lucky we are to have homes and thought about those less fortunate than ourselves.
We were then turned into wild animals and mythical creatures by a magic leaf.
We listened to our artist as she explained all about the sculptor ‘Sophie Ryder’, who imagined that she had turned into a hare. We really enjoyed exploring this sculpture and discovering all the unusual things that had been used to create it.
We enjoyed making our own imaginary animals and we used the environment around us to help create our own masterpieces.
It was such a beautiful day.
The clouds became images, we saw rabbits and love hearts.
Carmel told us the story about the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. We enjoyed looking at the animal head sculptures and acting the story out for ourselves with ribbons. It was great fun.
We are so lucky to live near to such a fabulous place. It would be great to visit again soon.
Thank you to everybody that made our trip possible and a HUGE thank you to ‘Friends of Springwood’ for funding the transport. We had a really fabulous day.
